Well, the Chilli Fiesta was excellent. For such a small event, a hell of a lot was packed in and there was a huge number of people there. I consumed a fantastic dish involving pork and chilli, which resulted in me turning scarlet, eyes watering, sweating profusely but feeling great! Beer was also taken, and purchases made of sauces, peppers and suchlike. If you can get to West Dean tomorrow for day 2, then go – highly recommended.

Archinect launches its first design competition, and it isn’t just for architects in the traditional sense. Designers of just about any sort can enter physical or digital designs for a “communication booth”. Sounds interesting – I’ll be looking out for the results.

Beer last night with Sarah, Brenda, Greg, DA and Kearn. Also sighted: Paul S, Anne, Simone, Kristian and Katy. Everyone was on top form, so there was some side-splitting laughing going on.

  • Tomorrow I’m taking the day

Tomorrow I’m taking the day off and going to West Dean (which is just up the road from Chichester) for the Chilli Fiesta – 200 varieties of chillis, chilli foods, chilli beer, chilli plants – anything chilli related really. Seems a good opportunity to turn red and sweat a lot!

The fluorescent tube in my kitchen is dysfunctional. It flickers on and off making “bzzzzzt” noises. I think it is trying for a bit part in a 60s B movie starring Warren Oates.

sorry for lack of updates – haven’t been near a PC all day. And now I’m going to the pub.
More tomorrow (or later if I feel like it).

This afternoon, one of the ugliest women I have ever had the displeasure of seeing said that I was a “very handsome man”. On the one hand, this is naturally flattering. On the other, it is quite horrifying. I don’t mean to be unkind when I say that she was ugly, merely truthful. Even my mother (who was standing nearby) was quite mortified. To be honest, I couldn’t get out of that room fast enough.
