Damp horrid day. Hope the week improves.

Bloody hell! Is it really still Monday? This week is going to drag on for ever at this rate.

It’s National Chip Week, and to coincide with that, ActionAid has launched a chip-patenting publicity stunt. As usual, it isn’t as simple as this article suggests – if you had spent years and millions developing something, wouldn’t you want it protected in law, in just the same way as if you had written a novel, you’d be upset if another writer passed it off as their own work? But equally, how can we safeguard the interests of farmers and growers around the world?
