There is a new blog created every second according to Technorati, which now tracks 14.2 million blogs. Do we really need that many?

If there are 14.2 million blogs, I wonder how many spam comments there are?

Yeah, but how many get much beyond being started? Or run for a couple of months and then just stop.
I have lots of blogs. As well as my main writing and photography ones, I have a ‘test’ blog for template fiddlings, plus ‘blogs’ that host pictures of family events and are not crawled by robots or linked from anywhere.
And I set about six up on blog*spot. Two were abandoned, one was to allow longer entries, one was a ‘test’ and just one links through to my current one.
According to Technorati, 55% are still being updated after 3 months. So there are still a hell of a lot of blogs.
The more the better, I figure.
Where do you rank Graybo?
