How bizarre – my mum has just phoned me from the pub to see if I’m going out for a drink. Under normal circumstances, of course I would. But with the residue of my monumental headache of yesterday still rumbling around my synapses, I’m going to pass, curl up on the sofa, and have an early night.

There are a lot of aircraft flying in the same direction at very high altitude over here. It is very reminiscent of the build up to the invasion of Kuwait during the Gulf War, when there were aircraft passing over every minute or two. I predict that the US are about to step up their activities in Afghanistan significantly in the next few days.
