- BBC – Ban on eel fishing in Sussex to save stock
I remember going to the Whetstone Bridge over the Ryebank Rife as a child with my brother. The water had dried out during a particularly dry period of summer and the bottom of the stream bed was a mass of dead, rotting eels. Not a sight you’d see these days.

- BBC News – UK time change ‘would save CO2 emissions’
It would also put us in the same time zone as most of the European Union, which would be good for business, IMHO. It seems crazy that London is an hour ahead of Paris, which is at more or less the same longitude.

What a lovely looking B&B! Shame it is only suitable for two. Must find excuse to leave Tom behind…

Drove through here on Friday evening on my way home from a meeting. The Chapel in the Rocks looks amazing and the castle on top of the hill has that “explore me” pulling power. Will try to return here and actually take a look around. Nice area, with steep valleys, lots of woods and terraces for viticulture.

I didn't realise that so much of the Maginot Line still exists. I'm constantly curious about WW2 and more recent concrete architecture – I think that more of it should be preserved before it is lost. Along with the Maginot Line, the Pill Boxes that scatter our region of the UK also deserve more preservation, IMHO.
