Brighton won their match against Bournemouth 2-1, in less than convincing fashion. But, due to other results in the league, they are now four points clear at the top of division 2. Blimey!

Any talk of a downturn in consumer spending in the UK would not be backed up by the evidence to be found in Chichester city centre today – the place is heaving, and the shops are packed.
The good weather has to be a factor in that though – and I’m going to enjoy it too, taking my marketing text books down to the park for a reading session.

Today is the equinox – 12 hours of daylight, 12 hours of darkness. From now until March, there’ll be more hours of dark than light. Sigh.
Still, judging by the trees on the nursery, as long as we don’t get any gales, we should be in for a pretty spectacular autumn colour display. A lime tree there is already turning a beautful bright yellow, and a large Himalayan spindle bush is taking on rich red and pink colouring.

Brighton and Hove Albion football club celebrates its centenary tomorrow with a league match against Bournemouth. Brighton have won 11 consecutive matches at home. Bournemouth lost their last match 6-0. The omens are good.
