Just occasionally, I get a really funny bit of junk mail, either in the post or as spam. Today, information about a Charlie Dimmock lookalike. Hmm.

Tonight I went to see La Pianiste, which is deeply disturbing film, that opens up thoughts about sexuality, dominance, trust, sanity, obsession and familial relationships. It is certainly not light-hearted viewing, and just about everyone walking out of the cinema (including myself) had that “whoaaa!” look about them. But it is a very good film, nonetheless, with impressive acting performances from both of the leading actors. Recommended, but not for the faint-hearted.
Last orders drinks with Paul F and Arron, along with Justin, Teresa and Gary. Now to finish that homework.

I have some homework for my college course that is waiting to be done. I have to do it by tomorrow. I’m just not in the mood. I’d rather poke about online, read the newspaper or my paperback, listen to some music. But I guess it has to be done.

What a crappy day – wet, windy, grey. A good excuse to stay in.

Someone is letting off fireworks nearby. It is 1.20am. Grr.

It’s Saturday night. It’s just after 1am. I’ve had a few beers. Time for a relationship audit. There’s:

• someone who I fell for in a big way and now just wants some "distance" (insert shrugged shoulders and sad look here);
• someone who is clearly very keen on me, but is a single mum who only split up with her last boyfriend last weekend;
• someone who I’ve admired for ages, but only just met, but who appears not to be that interested in me (I may be wrong);
• someone who is a dark horse. God knows where that is going, if anywhere.

Hey ho.

Beer tonight with the lovely Bren, the splendid Greg, Paul, Wendy, DA, the heavily pregnant but still gorgeous DAGS, Sacha, Ian (looking flushed), Paul F, Paul C, Kearn, Stein, Matt, Tanya (happy birthday!), Claudine, James, Jayne, Malcolm, Teresa and several others, with sightings of Justin, Caroline, Steve C, Sidney, Helen, Steve and the lovely other Sally.

Forgot to mention – had lunch with Jane G, which was lovely. Good to catch up.

I can heartily recommend this company‘s products, based on the one I’ve just consumed. A ready meal that really does taste like it was prepared by hand in someone’s kitchen, and not on a production line somewhere. And you can actually taste the ingredients. It might just catch on. (My Berkshire readership should note that they have a branch in Maidenhead, as well as the newly opened shop just five minutes walk from my front door here).
