    Beer last night with Sarah, Brenda, Greg, DA and Kearn. Also sighted: Paul S, Anne, Simone, Kristian and Katy. Everyone was on top form, so there was some side-splitting laughing going on.

  • Tomorrow I’m taking the day

    Tomorrow I’m taking the day off and going to West Dean (which is just up the road from Chichester) for the Chilli Fiesta – 200 varieties of chillis, chilli foods, chilli beer, chilli plants – anything chilli related really. Seems a good opportunity to turn red and sweat a lot!

    The fluorescent tube in my kitchen is dysfunctional. It flickers on and off making “bzzzzzt” noises. I think it is trying for a bit part in a 60s B movie starring Warren Oates.

    This afternoon, one of the ugliest women I have ever had the displeasure of seeing said that I was a “very handsome man”. On the one hand, this is naturally flattering. On the other, it is quite horrifying. I don’t mean to be unkind when I say that she was ugly, merely truthful. Even my mother (who was standing nearby) was quite mortified. To be honest, I couldn’t get out of that room fast enough.

    There is no way in the world I am going to get to see all the films that I want to. I also need a few days to get my head around the programme and decide what I want to see. But an impressive line-up, you have to agree.
    The Festival runs from 23 August to 9 September. If you want a copy of the programme, I suggest you send a large (at least A5) self-addressed envelope, with a couple of first class stamps stuck on it, to Chichester Cinema at New Park, New Park Road, Chichester PO19 1XN
