We recently purchased the Roger Hargreaves classic "Mr Tickle" for Tom, which makes reference to a teacher writing on a blackboard. Tom takes this in his stride (as he has a small blackboard on an easel and a selection of chalks), but I doubt he will ever see a blackboard in a classroom during his school career.
