I'm beginning to look out for iPad alternatives. I'm an Applephobe, so I'm looking at devices from other suppliers with 12+ hour battery life, ease of use, good screen size and resolution (I plan to mainly use it as a product catalogue to show to customers at exhibitions) as well as robust construction (it could get thumped about a bit). I'm not yet sure which OS will be best, so I'm open to Android, Linux or Windows.

I like this version as it doesn't call for extra bacon (or, heaven help us, pancetta) and so strikes me as being closer to the real deal of traditional cookery.

This is remarkably similar (aside from the pancetta) to the recipe given by Jane Grigson in her classic English Food. I'm more inclined to follow the latter.
