Today is the birthday of an ex-girlfriend from several years ago. We are still in touch, albeit infrequently these days and only digitally. We lived together for just over a year and a half. It wasn’t always a happy relationship, but we had some really good times.
I learnt a lot during our time together, not least that you should not regret what you have done. It may have been better if you had made another decision, but you can always say that with the benefit of hindsight. The fact is that you made the right decision at the time, based on the circumstances you were in, the information you had, the emotions you were feeling.
