I’m not a football enthusiast (other than following Brighton), as regular readers will know (and I’m becoming even less enthusiastic about itsagoal.com since my team lost their last eight away matches). But I have noted that Ireland have a distinct advantage over Saudi Arabia in today’s World Cup match: their names. If you wanted to catch the attention of a player in your team on a football field, wouldn’t you prefer to shout Duff, Kelly or Breen instead of “Oi! Khamis al-Owairan Al Dossary!”
And I’m not going to comment on the Denmark-France result for fear of upsetting one of my regular readers.
